Reports from the race course are spotty.
Conditions:
The wind is averaging between 8-10kts, the waves are moderate but choppy and the sun is still high and warm!
The first report comes from the Laser course:
The most recent news came in the middle of the second race. The pace is somewhat slower on this course because of the three fleets (full rigs, radials and 4.7s). Chicago sailors are mid-fleet and shaking off nearly two months of rust since the Great Lakes HS Championships. It appears they are struggling in difficult conditions (moderate wind, choppy seas, huge line - 150+ boats on the line). Not an unusual development and we have a lot of racing ahead.
420 Racing:
No report yet from the 420s.
