Good morning all. Some of you may have already found the results posted by the race committee - it took a while last night. As of 1900 hrs, they had posted only two races for the Lasers and the 2006 results for the 420s. That got corrected and the full day results are up.
Conditions:
The wind, which started fairly strong (approx 12-14kts) for race 1, deteriorated all day and the last race for all fleets was in very light breezes.
The NTHS kids all had a decent day but are still showing the effects of the layoffs since the Great Lakes Champs in November.
In the Laser Radial fleet, Drew Shea is in 30th (175 pts), Mark Gargula is in 120th (434 pts.) With such a large fleet on the starting line, getting a good position and a fast start are extremely critical factors.
On the 420 course, Stephanie Hudson and crew Laura McKenna are in 13th place (43 pts). Colleen Cozzens and skipper Kelly Cox are in 60th place (118pts). Cole Rice, sailing with William Osler are in 82nd pl (157 pts). The coaches report that all are getting more/re-acquainted with the crew/skipper and the boats (they're using spinnakers for this regatta).
Other Midwest sailors are doing well, too:

Erik Bowers (Int'l School of MN, 13th place, 59 pts)
Brady Savage (GPN, 21st, 91)
Will Howard (LFHS, 22nd, 94)

Will Haeger (LFHS, 22nd, 154)

Matt Wishnoff (Latin, 88th, 341)
Kevin Kennedy (Loyola, 107th, 396)
Peter Holz (North Shore CD, 114th, 414)
420s:
Anne Haeger, Ian Schappe (LFHS, 15th, 48pts)
Ian Hollerbach, Sarah Somes (GPS, 21st, 54)
Kelly Seago, Katie Bill (GPN, 40th, 83)
Clay Lewis, Lizzie Claffy(Latin/Hinsdale, 55th, 102)
Patrick Pesch, Lindsay Taylor (LFA, 81st, 157)
So, that was Day 2. Today the sun is warm (75-80 degrees) the wind is blowing and the kids are racing!
Check back for more.
