Conditions:
No news here: the winds continued to drop throughout the day. Today. Saturday, was almost a carbon copy of Friday.
Results:
No news here, either. results have not been posted yet. The delay may be caused by Protest Committee work - I know of several requests for redress on scoring yesterday; it appeared there were a number of protests. Unfortunately, on both courses - 420s and Laser Radials - the Black Flag (the disqualification penalty assessed against a sailor over the starting line and in the triangle formed by the ends of the starting line and the windward mark, within 1 minute of the start) hurt many, many sailors today. There were 30+ black flag penalties in the last Radial race alone.
We're headed over to dinner at the yacht club. At 1800 hrs there's a college coaches talk. Greg Wilkinson (Boston College) and several others are going to talk to the sailors about college racing.
To get results before I post them tonight, here's the link:
Look for the table of links in the middle of the page.
DS
BTW: From the sounds I hear in the hallway, the sailors are having fun. They're sailing hard and it's tough conditions.

On the 420 course after 9 races, Mikey Whitford is 13th, Steph Hudson 14th, K. Cox & Colleen Cozzens 63rd, and Osler/Cole Rice 82nd. Mikey was "black flagged for starting early" in the last race of the day after winning race 8. Steph and Laura won race 7, but closed with a 14th and a 24th. The teams are 11 and 16 points, respectively, behind tenth place and need a good day on Sunday in order to place in the top ten. If three races are completed on Sunday, both teams have an opportunity to gain since their second drops are greater than those ahead of them.
Cox/Cozzens broke into the top ten in race 6.
On the Radial course, BFD's caught up with the Loyola and NT sailors. All appear to fighting for starting positions in a very competitive fleet. Erik Bowers of ISM (7th), Will Howard of Lake Forest (17th), and Brady Savage (19th) are competing in Full Rigs.
Go MISSA!!!
