The California International Sailing Association (CISA) will hold its annual Advanced Racing Clinic from April 4 to 7. The program consists of lectures and on-the-water drills including tactics, strategy, sail trim, boatspeed, etc., together with information on what is important for developing a successful Olympic campaign. This clinic is held in Lasers, Laser Radials, Club 420s, International 420s, Club FJs, and 29ers. Participants must be 13 years or older and a current member of U.S. Sailing Association. Selections are based upon the sailor’s resume. This is an intense, high level clinic, but one which up and coming New Trier Sailing Team members will want to consider in future years.
This year, New Trier will be represented by Stephanie Hudson in the I-420 class and Drew Shea in the Laser Radial. Other MISSA sailors who have been selected to the clinic include Will Haeger (Club 420) and Will Howard (Laser Full Rig) of Lake Forest High School. Coaches at the clinic will include Mikee Anderson, Cameron Biehl, Brian Bissell, Andrew Campbell, Nigel Cochran, Brett Davis, Carl Evans, Richard Feeny, Ben Glass, Casey Hogan, Isabelle Kinsolving, Harry Legum, Zack Leonard, Andrew Lewis, Zach Maxam, Dave Perry, Jon Rogers, Leandro Spina, and David Wright. Evening dinner speakers include Dave Perry and Charlie Ogletree.
NT sailors interested in learning more information regarding this and other sailing clinics are encouraged to speak with the Hudson's and/or Shea's. Website information may be obtained at http://www.cisasailing.org/content/view/18/11/ .
