Laser Midwinter East - 2009

New Trier has two sailors competing in this year's Laser "Mids-East" regatta, Cole Rice (Soph)and Drew Shea (Junior, NTST Capt.). Both are on the water for the first time since Orange Bowl (Dec, 2008) and were not excited about yesterday's weather - winds out of the Southeast, 20-25 knots. Both survived.

Today the regatta began, it's overcast and winds are more moderate although in the 15-20 range. There has been a rainstorm (a pretty strong weather front that went through fast) and the sun is beginning to break through for the afternoon.

Three races are planned today (actually each day). I'll post an update later this afternoon.
